Lamb Peak, Marmots saddle - 12-13th Sept 2009

This company action had been invented in Baška`s and Edo`s heads at the end of July. We, eventual tourists, exchanged some mails and the lodging was about to loom. There was a good number of us gathered up, but after the last weather forcast we remained seven - me, Krtko, Baška, Edo, Erik, Jolik, Marian a Ivan.

Having met each other on the northern highway, we headed towards Old Smokovec. There we left Jolik s car and crammed with rucksacks into a single car. We shifted to Tatranské Matliare where we started. Right at the beginning, we halted at Hutník Hotel to get a coffee and those who had not managed also the breakfast. After a short snack we started walking to the chalet at the Green Tarn (Brntchalka). We reached the hut at noon thus the following plan was clear. The lunch at the hut and the climb up to Lamb Peak. There we treaded without Baška who nouriched the fire. Fortunately, the weather was with us all the way. The path was flanked by chamoises which were umbelievably close.

When we returned, a warm dinner was awaiting us as well as the beers for 2 Euros. In the morning, we woke with some qualm because of the weather. Dr Iľko prognosticated local storms and general rains. Fortunately, it rained only in the morning. The plan for Sunday was not clear as was the sky. We set off as early as we could. At about 8:30. Some put their waterproof garments on which we did not need. The footing up to Saddle of Svišťovka we did in T-shorts, though the top was in fog. Up we changed our sweat T-shirts, drank some shots and went on to Rock Tarn in milk visability. After a short halt we continued to Zamkovský Hut where we got lunch and made a Teambuilding. We cast aside the previous plan to go up to Tery hut. On the way to Hrebienok our new plan was firming up. We took a vote on that but finally we chose another option. Resting at Aqua City Poprad. Me with Erik had to buy swimwear. The other had it in case of a hard rain during the weekend. Four hour rest in pools, whirl pools, sauna and toboggans was the best choice. A great completion of a weekend hike.

We will plan the future hikes near aqua cities and pools from now.
