Krížna 19 june 2005

There´re are verious ways how to spend weekend days and we decided again to spend ours somewhere nearer to the sky. So called "initiation of the summer season" by a climb to Krížna summit, the 1574 ms tall peak of Great Fatra, would be adequate. And so, one day before there were 12 people to meet at the bus station in Zvolen. Some of them hadn´t been acquainted till that time - the more interesting it should have been and what´s more we did increase our rows. Some not-catching the bus, a sunstroke and we met numbered nine finally.

Shot! - Me, Miro The Writing, Krtko The Great, Ive The Blondd, Dudo The Little, Joseph The Mourning and a few new members - Veva The Veva, Robo al. Mr. Bean, Mathew The Bright and Peter The Secret. The bus: Zvolen - Old Mountains - 2 mins. stop = some stubs - Turks´ village...

... and a horrible finding there - the tavern off the working hours and a fucking slope to be climbed up ahead - you just fancy it! First steps to get accustomed with the ground and after several refresh-stops we were at The Lyshyak chalet. BRUTAL! - it wasn´t working.

We reached the summit (some 15 mins) in a wind alá "here it is you fail". There we drew some photos and set off, as we only realized later, for the main attraction of the day, namely Mayer´s crag. The account: majesty from afar, mammoth and conspicuous seen from vicinity and once you´ve climbed it it´s clearly saying to you "You´re just a little rotten worm on my back (you certainly see the photos - it´s worth it).

Simply a super blow-out at the most flamboyant spot of the region. Not to forget, the plastic bag taken by the wind and diverting us for the next ten minutestill it disappeared somewhere 200 ms aloft and 500 ms afar off, was a pure accident. Then we dismounted along the blue and again some knees passed away - we´re simply brutalists. The last photo of us exemplifies the almost-death of our pilgramage above a, not as peculiar as clap-trap, village, Old Mountains, with a chalet we besieged a while afterwards, in the background.

Of course, there couldn´t be any commital without nails and so the intended bus didn´t take us after two-hour wait. So, everyone on his or her own. Me and Ive hitched a kind of outdoor character who shifted us up to the town of Banská Bystrica. There was a phone-call closely before it. It was from Veva and told me that they (numbered 7) had also hitched a Type. It really must have been one! - he took them all together. We got together again in Zvolen where we were evaluating and discussing at an unnamed café, you know, the one near the bus stop, in the new bus station´s building where there´s no good ale, just warm bottled Kelt and mediocre Gold Pheasant. In the conclusion - many thanks to SAD, a private transport company Slivtour and even to MHD Zvolen. This time they held their hands out towards us.
