Again the weather in Little Fatra, 8th-9th May 2009
We met at the station in Zvolen early in the morning, except for Anička who joined us in žilina.
Krto The Resolutedagain, Joseph The Bandagedagain, Tanja The Presentagain, Ivka The Excitedagain and Miro The Writingagain bought the tickets again as well as a bottle which is not a necessary item, by the way I lost my 60 Euro worth purse because of that.
AT the time we arrived at žilina Anička had been waiting for us. After that we got on the bus and twoo of us almost had not been taken.
The weather seemed OK from the very beginning in štefanová. We took off some layers, had some beer and set out, fuckingly steep up.
We reached Medziholie soon, snow could be seen through the trees on the west. But all seemed ideal at the time. Crowds of people were resting in the seddle.
We set out to the NW up to Veľký Rozsutec.
That track was closed up, but fuck it up we did not do it. We elbowed with the whole of Slovakia on the top. We took some super "action" pics.
Poof we scudded down, whoosh we tried up to Snoh. Oh, surprise!!! The climb up was paved with knee-deep snow and tasty mud. So what. The traverse path was even worse.
On the summit it all seemed half of us was gonna die and we would get nowhere but the rest helped enough. Here we had torn off with Tanja and Ivka somehow,
I cannot catch it how it could happen. We took some pics in turn with Czech brothers after Midday Grúň with a panorama of snow covered crest. Right before
Chleb we turned to the left to a by-steps-worn path which didn t existed at the time (it had been scraped off by some snowslips as well as the one to the valley
of šútovo). Simply a genial trek on a 45 degree slope with no steps or rungs at all. After a half hour fight we reached the hut, the sun setting so we sought
seats inside in a lodge crammed with no less than 100 people. Cool!!! "Have you had this before?" we asked. A thirty of Czechs was just to arrive!!!
Some of us half slumbering, some half hyped up we sat up till those went down and we spread about two tens of deckchairs of army kind.
The first rain at three before morning, the following ones we didnt even notice. At the breakfast and chaos an idea was cast by someone. "What about we went straight down from the crest?!?!" I was almost stunned, fortunately I didnt have dry bread in my mouth. All right I said but via the valley of šútovo...
... and so we feasted our eyes on the fall of šútovo in a beutiful sunny weather, and caught the most ideal train to Vrútky and thus home. We said good bye to Anička and Joseph going the opposite direction.
