Svinica, or almost the crest of Orla Perc, 25/26th Jun 2010

Two months had passed and we were heading to Poland to finish the April`s trip to Giewont and Orla Perc from two nooks of Slovakia. Me, Miro The Writing, Ivka The Frozen, Tanja The Silent, Pato The Poorlydressed, Monika The StopitPato, Mathew The Cop, Sisa The Matkooo, Katka The Millet and Michal The Millet 2, but for the Millets met in Dolny Kubin. Some trouble (two fines) but still we did it.

At twilight, we found that parking in Zakopane is still a damned thing. We solved this in a monkish monastery areal almost for free (10 Euros). Perfect, we were given a private code for the entrance gate, we felt like gods. We set off, the night was falling, we drank not to be afraid of bears. In fact, only Tanja was frightened, whispering "What if we meet a..." all the time. At about 10 pm we passed a smaller hut and reached the Murowaniec chalet. No night life? The chalet must be empty? Shit! We learned entering our rooms. Heads were jetting out from all the sleeping bags. At 01:30 we definitely left for our beds after a warning from Polish students that there was a hard snow and they had had to go back. In the morning we met the Millets, swallowed some food, some beers and set off. It was raining. Perfect. Rather drizzling, and it was all day long. After the map time across some snow-firn fields we reached the Zawrat saddle. The visibility was poor. The council sat down wheether to go on or to retreat. Suddenly, someone came up with an idea to go the opposit direction, i.e. to Svinica. OK. Some stunts on the rocks from Pato and me, millions of pics and we climbed steeply up (without fixing it would be more interesting) Black, green paths and we were much lower and still lower and lower. Pooh... a serious descent and especially in that constant rain and mist!!! Murowanieeeec! Huuray! Over a traditional Polish soup we discussed the next action – Orla Perc also with passing Rysy Peak from the north. We`ll see....
