ZT, Baníkov, Pachoľa, 5-7th Sept 2008
All this action had continued from 2006 when we planned the first event in West Tatras. Then we managed to pass the initial leg.
The next year the second leg came and this year we accomplished the main ridge. Nine of us gathered up. Fantastic four, i.e. me (Krtko), Jožo (Puko),
Braňo (Dolko), Peťo (Kapo) and Jožko, Anička, Peťo, Gabika.
Kapo booked the hut which we regard highly. He offered up a firm chalet which had raised in Huty and offered luxury: a huge kitchen, a sitting room,
even three bathrooms, just poor Dolko could use only one.
The F4 planned the first day, i.e. to manage Baníkov, The Three Heaps, and the other day a reprise of Brestová, Salatín, Pachoľa.
We began Saturday along an asphalt road towards Tatliaková hut. From there up passing by the Roháčsky waterfall up to the saddle of Baníkov.
Farther over Three heaps to The Sad Saddle. Afterwards we had a small snack at Tatliaková hut and a big one in the pizzeria in Zuberec.
A tastefull pizza but you cannot pay with tickets. We acoomplished the first day greatly and were pleasantly fatigued. Even our tiros coped with the chains well.
On Sunday we had to split up since some of us felt really weary. Jožko and Anička joined our F4. We speeded a bit and in a record time of 7:25:30 we passed 2802
ascended metres which is about 1000 m more than the previous day. We thought previously it would be a leisurely day. It was a bit longer but that much arduous
like all our short cuts. A good wind helped us to the good pace. The initial steep up the Spálený trough wore us out pretty much. Till we had reached the
Brestová, the wind blew pretty strong, not easing all our proceeding along the crest oveer Salatín up to Pachoľa. It just at a stone s throw to the saddle
of Baníkov, and ahead just the torment for knees, i.e. descending the Spálená valley.
The other group, Gabika, Peťo and Ada, went a lighter way to Roháčske tarns and along Tatliakova hut to the cars. Some metres before the cars we got
together again and finished as a big group. At about five we got to the hut, managed to have a shower and to return the hut.
Pleasantly exhausted by the goodly used weekend we said good bye at some outlines of next events. Last waves and shoo off home.
